Where To Preorder All 12 Lego Pokemon Smart Play Sets

Lego launched its first official Pokemon sets earlier this year, and soon the line is expanding with 12 new Lego Pokemon kits launching August 1. The new sets are part of Lego’s Smart Play collection, which use unique Smart Brick pieces that enable interactive features like reacting to movement, playing sounds, and more.

Like other Smart Play sets, these new Pokemon displays are divided into two types, starting with the Smart Play All-in-One sets like the $120 Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle display (751 pieces) and the $70 Training House Pikachu (400 pieces). These kits include the Smart Brick pieces required to enable the interactive Smart Play features found in all the sets (hence their higher-than-average price tags).

The other 10 releases launching August 1 are “Smart Play Compatible” sets, like the Charmander & Geodude Cavern Clash (198 pieces) or Cubone & Gengar’s Spooky Showdown (782 pieces). While these also include interactive Smart Play features, they do not ship with Smart Brick pieces–meaning you’ll need to pair them with one of the All-in-One sets in order to use the Smart Play features–but the upshot is they’re more affordable compared to the All-in-One sets. You can check out all 12 Lego Pokemon Smart Play sets below.

Preorders for all 12 sets are available now at multiple online retailers–though if your purchase any of the new Pokemon Smart Play sets from Pokemon Center and spend $130 or more, you’ll get the Ditto as Squirtle: Movie Night Smart Play Compatible set as a free bonus. This deal is ongoing through December 31 and is open to residents of the United States, while supplies last.

Preorder any of the sets in Lego’s new Smart Play collection from Pokemon Center and spend $130 or more to get the Ditto as Squirtle: Movie Night Smart Play Compatible set. This deal is ongoing through December 31 at 11:59 pm PST and is open to residents of the United States, while supplies last.

While the functionality of the Smart Play sets is more advanced compared to standard Lego kits, there’s no reason they can’t hang out with the other Lego Pokemon displays released so far, including a posable Eevee figure, Pikachu and its Poke Ball display, and the enormous 6,838-piece Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise diorama.

Also be sure to check out the many other Lego Smart Play Sets. Numerous sets have already launched and more are up for preorder. The line includes some of Star Wars’ most iconic ships, including Vader’s TIE Fighter, Luke’s Red Five X-Wing, and the Millennium Falcon, to name a few.
